Keeping Our Roots Alive by Passing on the Old Pioneer Skills

Visiting Werner Wagon Works, located on the east side of beautiful Mission Lake, you'll be welcomed to "a piece of the past." Tour the working 1800's blacksmith shop where they could be forging iron for a wagon or bending a steel tire for a wooden wheel. Go through the wheelwright shop where repairing or building a wagon wheel could be taking place. Building a new wagon or restoration to an original wagon can be seen in the wainwright shop. While visiting don't forget to say Hi! to Sarah and Sadie, the draft mules who took the Werners on the Oregon Trail in 1993. Ask about the wagon rides available. (Limited Hours)
